Assessing one-shot instruction

As I'm working on my summer project to consider the overwhelming series of questions about how/if/what we assess one-shot instruction, I'm thinking a lot about Annie Downey's comment, tucked away in the back of Critical Information Literacy.

Librarians are currently stuck in an assessment culture, in which they are supposed to constantly prove their worth by making sure they are teaching enough to please their supervisors and assessing their instruction sessions in a way that shows their efforts have been worthwhile. Annie Downey.
