Thresholds, not the Framework

I feel like I'm at a threshold.
I constantly feel like I'm on the cusp of a breakthrough to teaching and integrating information literacy in awesome, holistic ways. Some of the thought bubbles floating around my head include:
  • getting rid of the traditional research paper, especially in the freshmen information literacy class I teach
  • teaching students how to use non-textual sources, which would be really great in programs like arts, history, digital communications
  • empowering faculty to teach information literacy concepts, or at least not forcing instruction on them
But what does it all mean? What will it all look like? And how can we assess learning?

One day I hope to be able to update this post with answers.
